Hi Everyone,
Sorry for the delay between posts, so much to do sometimes with very little time. I need a few more hours in the day. I’m sure a lot of people think that way.
Well, on Friday the 7th of August, my husband, Josh and I went and saw Dr Phil live in Brisbane. Dr Phil spoke for just under two hours and it was filled with serious topics with a bit of humour thrown into the mix. It was funny to listen to the big Texan trying to speak a little Aussie slang. As Aussies, we definitely have more exposure to their language and mannerisms, than what they would ours. I would doubt many Aussie TV shows get shown over there. I would be very interested to see what they think of our TV series “Underbelly”.
Anyway, the funny thing about the event, was Josh and I sat beside one another and everytime one of us agreed with Dr Phil regarding the opposite sex, we would elbow one another. Dr Phil said at one point that the same sex parent is usually the biggest influence in a child’s life. I elbowed Josh, because sometimes I feel as though Josh isn’t tough enough on Kadyn and I feel like I’m inheriting a mini Josh (which isn’t too bad sometimes).
Josh elbowed me a couple of times when Dr Phil was talking about the differences between men and women and how we deal with things differently. Thank goodness we deal with things differently or I wonder what we would become. I know for Josh and I, we have accepted that we do things differently. Sometimes some things Josh does (like burning the butt out of my pans) annoys me, but hey that’s life.
As I walked out of the event, I was so happy that I made the time to take a hard look at ourselves for those nearly two hours. Some of the stuff Josh and I have heard before but it was nice to experience it together.
I don’t think Josh and I aren’t doing too bad though, we have been together for 16 years this year. We must be doing something right.
Feel free to add any comments as you see fit.
Until next time, take care.
Kay
